World Book Day 2026
Parrett and Axe Celebrate World Book Day with Dance! 📚💃
At Parrett and Axe, we had a fantastic time celebrating World Book Day this year with children and staff both dressing up, it was lovely to see so many imaginative costumes celebrating favourite characters and stories.
The children enjoyed taking part in a variety of activities, including each class learning and performing a dance inspired by a different book or film. It was fantastic to see their enthusiasm and creativity throughout the day.
Each class chose a well-loved book or story and brought it to life by learning and performing a dance inspired by it. The children showed amazing enthusiasm, creativity and teamwork as they practised and performed their routines.
Here’s what each class performed:
- Corfe Class danced to Room on the Broom, bringing the magical story to life with lots of energy and imagination.
- Chesil Class performed a vibrant dance inspired by Encanto, full of colour and rhythm.
- Kimmeridge Class stepped into the world of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory with a fun and playful routine.
- Durdle Door Class celebrated the story of Coco with a lively dance inspired by its music and themes.
- Lulworth Class finished the show with a spectacular performance inspired by The Greatest Showman.
It was wonderful to see the children combining reading, music and movement to celebrate their favourite stories. Well done to all the pupils and staff for such brilliant performances and for making this year’s World Book Day so memorable! 🎉📖
