Kimmeridge – Working from Home

Kimmeridge Class – week 4 Week Beginning 25.1.21

Thank you to for continuing to email much of the work your children are doing, it is great to see and to be adding dojos too – what a treat to see so much delicious Chinese cooking. Do keep checking the school website under Kimmeridge class – we are updating it regularly with pictures of some of the work you are sending. Mrs Stott and I are busily putting all of your work together and it is lovely to see how much fun you are having and the good progress being made. As always, if you have any questions about your child’s learning and to continue to share work they have completed, please do email me at guestone@mosterton.dorset.sch.uk

Spellings

See the spelling lists on the spellings page and please email me your children’s results each week.

English/Topic

For the main English activity, through the week, I would like the children to draw together what they have been learning about China and extend this more by using the links I’ve given on the overview.

I would like them to make a leaflet, using headings, sub headings and paragraphs (we have practised these in different ways class)

I suggest using a piece of A4 paper, folded in half and set their leaflets out like this…

  1. A picture on the cover that shows something about China
  2. There could be a map and/or the Chinese flag on the back.
  3. Inside, pictures and writing about things they would like to see or do if they went to China.

Ideas children might like to include are … foods, animals, places.

Monday – plan their leaflet really carefully and do a draft leaflet. Draw boxes for pictures.
Tuesday – read through their leaflet carefully, checking for spellings, punctuation, headings, subheadings and maybe add more information – more detail and begin to write it in best
Wednesday – write up the leaflet completely
