This week, we will continue to look at different aspects of Roman life.

Here are your activities for the week:

  • Complete the ‘Roman Leisure Reading Comprehension’
  • Research the Colosseum and what it was used for. Create a fact file about it. Here are some useful websites to help you:

  • Complete the ‘Mystery of the Missing Toga SPAG activity’
  • Read the Roman Mosaics Powerpoint. Then complete the ‘Create a mosaic’ worksheet. I have also included some Roman Mosaic Colouring sheets and a Design a Mosaic Vase sheet.

This week we are looking at symmetry. Investigate symmetry in nature and create a picture, painting, collage, lego etc of something you have found e.g. a butterfly. I have included 5 worksheets. I have also included 4 9 times table worksheets.



Week Beginning 29 June

English

This week, we will start to look more closely at civilian life in Roman Britain. Here are some activities to try this week:

  1. Complete the ‘Family life in Roman times’ reading comprehension
  2. Research what clothes the Romans wore. I have included an information sheet to help you. Draw and label a typical Roman outfit

  5. Draw, build or make a roman home
  6. The Romans introduced a written language to Britain – Latin. Use the ‘Latin words and their meanings’ mat to have a go at making some sentences!
  7. Create a timetable of a typical day for a rich or poor person living in Roman Britain (or both!) Challenge: write a diary entry all about their day.

Your child might need reminding what change means and that it is required when we ‘overpay’ for something by using a bigger value coin or note than is required.
